In March 2010, President Obama signed comprehensive healthcare reform, known as the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), into law. As part of the law, all Americans must have healthcare insurance by January 2014 or face financial penalties. As a result of this and other healthcare reform that continues to evolve, customers will have increased options to purchase healthcare insurance on their own and not have to participate in a company-sponsored plan.
