Customer experience is on everyone's minds these days. From small businesses to enterprise organizations, engaging with the customer in personalized ways across all touchpoints in an organization has become paramount.

In fact, McKinsey reports that 70 percent of buying experiences are based on how the customer feels they are being treated. And a CEI survey reveals that 86 percent of buyers will pay more for a better customer experience, but only 1 percent of customers feel that vendors consistently meet their expectations.

Many industries are cognizant of the need to evolve to hyper-targeted, omnichannel delivery of their customer experience. Our 2015 Gartner & 1to1 Media Customer Experience Excellence Awards program aims to highlight the organizations that have mastered the critical steps to becoming customer-centric.

Many of you have asked for an extension to nominate your companies or clients, so today we are extending the deadline for the call for entries to April 10. Participants have a choice to showcase their customer experience achievements in four different categories.

In the "Transformational Customer Experience" category, companies must demonstrate how they transformed into customer-centric organizations by focusing on all touchpoints and all aspects of the customer experience; in "Innovation in Customer Acquisition" companies must show how they found new ways of engaging prospects and customers using multiple communication channels; "Innovation in Service Excellence" aims to demonstrate how employees are providing targeted service engagement across all possible channels; and "Innovation in Customer Insights" will highlight companies that can demonstrate how they identified new business opportunities and reinvented themselves by listening to customers from a variety of touchpoints.
