Twitter or Facebook? Which do you Prefer?

When Abrams Research asked more than 200 social media leaders which social media site they would pay to use and which ones they would recommend businesses pay to use, they got some interesting answers.

Yesterday, Abrams Research announced that 40 percent of businesses picked Twitter as the number one social media site for businesses. LinkedIn came in second with 21.3 percent. YouTube followed with 18.8 percent, and Facebook came in last with 15.3 percent.

But, when the social media leaders were asked what social media service they would advise a business pay for, Facebook came out on top with 32.2 percent of respondents in agreement. LinkedIn came in second with 29.7 percent, and Twitter was third with 21.8 percent.

The experts recommended Twitter because it offers "instantaneous feedback from and interaction with customers/users" and because of its "the ability to give a business a 'voice' is powerful marketing." However, they would pay for Facebook because "it is the most comprehensive social media forum."

Which social media sites would you recommend? Which would you pay to use?

I am trying to master Twitter. I like that it's more direct and to the point, although I am a struggling user right now, because I can't seem to login to my account so I opened a new account and now I have 3 accounts. Yikes! What am I doing wrong???

Twitter is great! Facebook is also amazing. Hooking up twitter to facebook, the best. That's what I do, it works well. http://twitter.com/MDumas

Why wouldn't they recommend both?

In a recent New York Magazine article, the author illustrates the power of Twitter. While he was at the Twitter offices conducting his interview, the U.S. Airways plane crashed on the Hudson. Fifteen minutes before any news source published or broadcast anything about it, Twitter users were tweeting about the crash and he was able to learn about it as it happened.

Twitter on the other hand is useful, moreover powerful.

FB is a massive threat to our privacy, and even without this shocking video below, I find it hard to see FB as a place for professionals, it's a place to waste time with the people you already know.

Watch this, comments please. Would love to know what the world thinks about giving up it's rights ...

1st Twitter
2nd FB
3rd LinkedIn

I would pay for Facebook easily. It's a surefire way to keep in touch. The introduction of profiles makes it separate for person/work use.

Twitter, not sure. I could live without it, but I like that it's here.
