What's on Your Mind?
We recently asked our 2009 1to1 Customer Champions that age-old question: What keeps you up at night? The 15 Champions (whom you'll "meet" in the summer issue of 1to1 Magazine) cited both unique and common concerns. I've summarized a few here:
Moving past the recession - Balancing the short-term realities of the economy with long-term business goals, in the context of customer strategy
- Current trends suggest that customer engagement and experience and vital right now. What, if anything, should we be doing differently in those areas?
- We need to make our numbers; we also don't want to sacrifice the customer experience. What is the best way to balance current revenue demands with long-term relationship strategies?
- It's vital to see the big picture while managing day-to-day responsibilities. How do we balance increasing workloads with the need to be creative and think strategically?
Meeting customer needs - Profitably exceeding customers' ever-increasing expectations
- Are we easy to do business with? Even if we are, are there ways to improve?
- How can we be more proactive in identifying and meeting opportunities or solving problems?
- What options are there to improve service or marketing in ways also cut costs?
- How else can we build loyalty and bolster retention?
Social networking/emerging technologies - Keeping up with evolving customer behaviors and new customer-related technologies
- How do we select the right goals for using social media to support our service, marketing, and sales initiatives?
- What's the best way to capture the voice of the customer through social media?
- Is there an optimal way to measure elements of your social media strategy?
- What new technologies will make the biggest impact over the next one to three years?
I imagine that many business leaders who oversee some aspect of the customer experience are concerned about these issues as well. But the reason I bring up these concerns is that I want to know what your hot-button issue is right now. If you came to 1to1media.com looking for an article that would answer the burning question you have right now, what would that question be? In other words, what story would you like to see us write?
Post your ideas below or email me. On April 30 we'll select the best idea, and then write it - giving full credit to the person whose idea it was. Thanks! I look forward to your input.
