David Rubenstein Offers Advice for Future Success

David Rubenstein, cofounder and managing director of The Carlyle Group, spoke at The World Business Forum today about the economic crisis. He offered these tips for succeeding in the future:

Persist - don't take no for an answer. If you're happy to sit at your desk and not take any risk, you'll be sitting at your desk for the next 20 years.

Think like a leader, not a follower

Don't worry about making money over the longer term. If you like what you do, money will flow.

Regard your business activity as pleasure. If you don't love what your'e doing, think of something else to do.

Think of how you can involve yourself in emerging markets.

Consider your community. Whatever you do, try to get back to people. Be an owner, thinkl like an entrepreneur and do something that will make the world a better place.
